Welcome to the
Bridgeton Free Public Library's Adult Services
web page! We hope you enjoy your stay here as
much as we do. |
|

Our collection
includes some 62,000 volumes, among which is the
largest selection of large print books in
Cumberland County. We subscribe to nearly 120
newspapers and periodicals. We have the
Bridgeton News on microfilm back to 1900. Our collection
on South Jersey history is one of the most
extensive in the area because we've been here so
long. Bridgeton has enjoyed library service
since 1811, and we've been at this location
since 1900. |
|

We think of the
library as a total resource center, and hope you
will use us as such. Since the advent of
computers, we have access to libraries all over
the country, through the InterLibrary Loan
Network. If you want something we don't have,
we will be glad to get it for you. The charge
for this service is only $.25. |
|

Located on the lower
level of the library is the George J. Woodruff Museum of Indian
Artifacts. Most of the collection (B.C. 9000 -
A.D. 1700) was found locally. A visit to the
museum is well worth your time. Check out our
Woodruff Museum page. |

The Bridgeton Public
Library has computers with Internet
access available for free public use by
presenting your C.L.U.E.S. Library card. A $.50
fee plus ID will be required if you do not
have your card. Your library card must be
fine free to use a computer. Users must
sign up at the desk. There is a 1 hour time
limit per user per day (30 minute limit between
2 and 6pm) Copies may be printed at a cost of
$.15 per page, and are available at
the circulation desk. The computers are for
reference information. Chat rooms are not
permitted. |

Here you will find
information on the CLUES system as well as
many features to assist you in your research. In
the CLUES system you will find periodical
databases such as EbscoHost. EbscoHost provides
full text for more than 1000 periodicals
covering nearly all subjects including general
reference, business, health, and much more.
Clicking on the C.L.U.E.S. logo above or the
link at the end of this category will take you
to a database used to search
magazines, newspapers, and reference books for
information on business, industry, current
events, the arts, science, entertainment, etc.
You can also use
the on-line catalog to look up books just as you
would at the library. Search the database at:
