Meeting space in
the Bridgeton Public Library may be used by
library and non-profit community groups.
Library and library-related activities will be
given first preference in scheduling.
Request for space
reservation should be made with the library as
far in advance as possible. The request shall
include the name of the group, purpose of the
meeting, name of contact, telephone number,
hours of meeting, number of people expected and
arrangements for payment of the fee.
Use of library
space by a community group does not constitute
an endorsement of the group’s mission or program
by the library or the City of Bridgeton. Groups
using the library may not advocate any illegal
activity, nor shall they engage in any activity
contrary to the policies of the library.
All meetings held
in the library shall be open to the public.
The library does
not set up tables and chairs, nor provide
janitorial services for groups using the
library. The library is not responsible for
publicity, assembling or dismantling exhibits,
or storage of non-library material or equipment.
The library does not provide a telephone, or an
answering or message service for the meeting
room.
By special
arrangement, the library may make coffee maker,
internet access and TV/VCR/DVD available. There
will be an additional fee of $5.00 for use of AV
equipment.
A portable
cork/chalkboard, easels and picture molding are
to be used for hanging objects. Nothing is to
be attached to the walls.
Art shows and
other exhibitions may be permitted by
established groups which will assume all
liability and present proof of insurance
coverage.
Meeting space
must be left neat and clean. Tables and chairs
should be returned to the positions in which
they were found.
Groups are asked
to report the number of persons attending the
meeting to library staff for library statistical
records.
The library may
refuse meeting space to any group that has an
outstanding use fee; has left library facilities
in poor condition; or disrupts other library
activities. The library reserves the right to
stop any meeting in progress if this policy is
violated.
FEES: The
following fees shall be charged for use of
meeting space to help offset part of the cost of
heat, electricity, air conditioning, custodial
services, etc.;
Use of meeting
space up to four (4) hours: $10.00
Use
of meeting space more than (4) hours: $20.00
Fees may be
waived for library and City of Bridgeton
government groups.
